PDSA PetAid

If you struggle financially with veterinary fees then you may qualify for assistance from the PDSA if you:
are in receipt of Council Tax Benefit or Housing Benefit
and
live within our PDSA PetAid catchment area.

We are a PDSA PetAid practice which means we work with the PDSA to provide first opinion care for pets whose owners otherwise could not afford treatment. For example, should your dog require antibiotics for a urinary tract infection or your cat require surgery for a broken leg the PDSA would cover some or all of the cost. You are informed of the total cost of your pet's visit each time and asked to make a donation to the PDSA at each visit.

The scheme is run by a charity who rely soley on public donations and as such there are limits to what can be provided.
Only one animal can be registered per eligible owner/address and
PDSA PetAid does NOT cover:

Vaccinations
Routine worming and flea treatment
Neutering
External laboratory fees unnecessary for diagnosis
Referral to other practices/specialist centres
Complications/costs associated with breeding

If you think you may qualify for help from the PDSA speak to reception as soon as possible. DO NOT WAIT until your pet is ill as you may not be eligible for immediate support and therefore will be expected to pay the bill in full.

PLEASE NOTE: Ivybank Veterinary Clinic insist that all animals registered on PetAid recieve annual booster vaccinations to avoid costly treatment of preventable diseases. If you do not keep your pet's vaccinations up to date we will not renew your PDSA certificate when it expires.

Our GOLDCARE PLAN is a helpful way for PDSA clients to spread the cost of their annual booster and also provides for routine flea and worming treatment.
