From A78 North or South
(Three Towns, West Kilbride, Largs, Troon, Ayr):
Leave the A78 at the Eglinton Interchange
and follow signs for Irvine. Pass Ayrshire Central Hospital on your
left, Irvine Royal Academy on your right and continue straight ahead
at each set of traffic lights. You will come to a mini-roundabout
with a laundrette on the corner. Take the last exit off this roundabout
onto Castle Street. Follow this road down to the bottom of the hill
and bear to the left with it. This is Low Green Road. Ivybank is
the large white building on the left at the far end of the road
overlooking the river. Parking is available in Ivybank's own car
park and in several marked bays along the length of Low Green Road
or you can continue round the corner to a couple of public car parks.
By Bus: From
your location travel by bus to Irvine Town Centre. Alight at Irvine
Cross. There is a lane (Chapel Lane) between Fullworks Hairdressers
and The King's Arms Hotel which leads down towards the Low Green.
Follow this lane past the car park, across the road and straight
up the hill. Pass the British Legion Club and follow the path back
down again, this brings you to the corner of Ivybank.
By Train:
Alight at Irvine. Walk through the Rivergate Shopping Centre. Before
the main exit to Bridgegate there is a side door just beyond the
Careers Service. Go through here and cross the square infront of
the Forum Centre. At the other side of the square is a flight of
steps leading downwards. Ivybank is on the other side of the road
after you descend the steps. BEWARE, these steps can be treacherous
in bad weather.
Disabled access:
Ivybank can arrange wheelchair access through our side
gate if required, please either telephone in advance to let us know
you will be coming or a member of your party can speak to reception
upon arrival.
To reach the clinic it is probably easiest to make your way from
Irvine Cross down Chapel Lane, there is a path on the left hand
side of the road after passing the carpark which allows wheelchair
access down towards the Low Green as the aforemntioned hill is quite
steep.
There is a ramp exit available from
Rivergate Shopping Centre next to the blinds shop however this does
requires you to walk a little way along the Low Green before the
path slopes up to meet the road.
