Ivybank
Veterinary clinic was founded in 1980 by Mr and Mrs Jeffrey, taken
over by Mr Bruce and the Sinclairs bought it from Mr Thomson in
1986.
When
William and Eileen started in 1986 there was work for one vet,
one un-qualified nursing assistant, a part-time receptionist and
a cleaner. Over the years they have expanded the practice to the
point where there are 4-5 vets, 3 registered Veterinary nurses,
3 receptionists and occasionally other students (both Vet and
Vet Nurse) on placement from college/university courses. In 2001
we achieved the BSAVA Standard after a Royal College of Veterinary
Surgeons inspection and in 2002 we were approved, again by inspection,
to be part of the new veterinary nurse training process. Both
of these involved scrutiny of our facilities, operating procedures,
health and safety CPD provision for staff etc. January 2006 saw
us pass the new inspection procedure and become an RCVS accredited
practice.
In
2004 Rosie Sorrie joined us as a veterinary partner in the practice.
In 2008 Laura McHarg graduated from Glasgow and brought the full
time veterinary team up to 4. We also have a 'pool' of stand in
vets including our long-term locum vet Rosemary Fitzgerald and
regular locum Eleanor Lamont.
