Coming to Ivybank from the textile industry might have been a shock to Selena but as she and husband Robert are involved in showing and breeding Bearded Collies the inside of a veterinary clinic was a familiar place. Officially she's a receptionist-admin person but she's also the “social secretary” for the practice, organising staff parties, days out, charity fund-raisers: any excuse for a bit of a hooly really. Definitely a party animal, Selena is the only person who regularly runs up the stairs!
Sinitta joined the Ivybank Vets reception team in 2015 and works at both the Irvine and Kilwinning clinics assisting our clients throughout their visit to the practice.
Judy is a busy mum who has worked at the practice for 10 years now. When she isn't behind the counter at West Kilbride she is ferrying her daughters to their many after school activities. A self-confessed caffeine addict, she consumes a daily dose of caffeine so great that she can see noises and works at the speed of sound!
Heading up our team of receptionists is Janice. She's had 2 stints at Ivybank - Irvine, the first when she was just a wee lassie, and then a few years later when she started her VN training. She is a qualified VN but a creaky back keeps her from the heaving and lifting and leaning, so she does loads of admin and phone-answering, and other stuff like that. She's very good at organising people (just ask her husband Donald), but her fiddle-playing daughter is her equal.
Reita works in both our Kilwinning and West Kilbride clinics as one of our frontline team welcoming and helping clients throughout their visit to the practice.
Irene has recently become a member of the Ivybank Vets reception team and is quickly adapting to the daily hussle and bussle of a busy veterinary clinic. She is based at the Irvine clinic.
Lovely Leesa has been at the West Kilbride surgery since Charlie Garratt had the surgery. Leesa always has time to speak to both animals and their owners but generally in that order!! Leesa's hobbies are finding obscure animal pictures on the internet and making the staff and hopefully the bosses laugh each day! Leesa is also a busy mum and enjoys fishing trips with her family. To keep Leesa going while at work she depends heavily on a large intake of sugary sweets.
Every clinic needs a morning person. They need to be bright, alert and on-the-ball. Just as well Louise is all of these things. She types faster than anyone who's ever worked here and probably faster than anyone has ever seen. And it's accurate. Wihc si fotruntea.
Allison joined the reception team at our Irvine clinic in 2015 and with a background in customer service and being a pet owner herself it didn't take long for her to become a valued member of the Ivybank team.
ANIMAL CARE ASSISTANT/RECEPTIONIST
Mandy is based in our Kilwinning clinic, where she welcomes you at the reception desk with a cheery smile and keeps the vets in line!
Amanda joined the team at Ivybank Vets in 2016 having been a familiar face around Irvine several years ago when she was a 'wee lassie' volunteering in the clinic. She now splits her days between the bustling Irvine reception and the busy Irvine hospital ward. On the bright side she gets paid better these days!
RECEPTIONIST/VETERINARY CARE ASSISTANT
Leanne came to the practice on day release while studying for her VCA (Veterinary Care Assistant) qualification and then became a permanent member of Ivybank Vets. Leanne has experience working with wildlife and a keen interest in British wildlife. She divides her days between all three clinics where she will either be welcoming you with a smile at reception or be in our busy hospital ward. Outside of work Leanne enjoys cosplay, attending Comicons and identifying moths.
